Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Kebbi govt donates N30m to Legion

The Kebbi State government  yesterday donated N30m to the state branch of the Nigerian legion in the state as part of its contributions to the activities marking  the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Emblem Appeal Week .

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu announced the donation at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi when he received the state leadership of Nigerian legion and its members.

He said the fallen heroes have sacrificed their lives for Nigeria’s unity and security and therefore deserved to be remembered and assisted.

“Armed forces remembrance day is significant to our lives. Soldiers made sacrifice for us to live “” he said.

Bagudu called for special prayers for all ex-service men who lost their lives in keeping Nigeria safe and secured.

In his remarks , the chairman of the legion in the state, Alhaji Umaru Garba thanked the governor for the kind gesture.

He requested the assistance of state government for the completion of legion secretariat, a bus and hajj seats for its members every year.
