Body of Abducted Girl Found Mutilated

Birnin Kebbi — The mutilated body of a four-year-old girl, who was abducted, has been found behind a hotel in Birnin Kebbi.

Daily Trust gathered that the body of the girl was found on Tuesday with her private part and other organs removed.

A resident of the area, who spoke to newsmen yesterday said: “The remains of Fatima were found on Tuesday, behind a hotel with the nose, tongue, eyes, private part removed.”

Father of the deceased, Mustapha Zaki, a staff in the office of the state deputy governor, said his daughter was abducted by three persons while playing with other children outside their house.

“We were told that three people came to the children and enticed them with sweets. They later sent the other two home, with the excuse that they will go with Fatima to buy more sweets. We informed the police and began a search for my daughter when the children could not tell us who gave them sweets. We were informed after two days of search that her body was discovered behind a hotel with her tongue, nose, private part and some other vital organs missing. We suspect that she was killed by rituals,” the father added.

The state Commissioner of Police, Benjamin Uche Onwuka, while confirming the incident, assured that the perpetrators will be found and brought to book.

The deputy governor, Ibrahim K. Aliyu, who visited the family, expressed dismay over the incident and assured that government will ensure a thorough investigation. He also called on parents to monitor the movement of their children and wards.
