Health workers threaten strike in Kaduna

Health workers in Kaduna State have threatened to begin an indefinite strike today (Saturday) because the state government had not kept to an agreement in respect of salary, among others issues.

The workers, who met under the auspices of Joint Health Sector Associations/Unions (JOHESU), said unless there was a positive reaction from the government, the strike would begin from midnight of Friday (yesterday) and directed all members to remain at home from then.

Chairman of JOHESU, Mrs Cecilia Musa, said, at a press conference, on Thursday that the strike become necessary in order to push for the implementation of the balance of 30 per cent Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) in the state as earlier promised by the state government.
