imageFollowing continous violence in the North-East, particularly Borno State, the Christian pilgrims to Israel from the State have been urged to pray for Borno State and for peace to be restored in the entire region.

Rev (Dr) Titus Pona, Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, made the call in his address to the pilgrims at the EYN church in Maiduguri before they embarked on the Holy Pilgrimage exercise.

He said pilgrims should thank God for President Goodluck, the National Christian Pilgrims Commission and Governor Kashim Shettima for their different roles in making it possible for them to perform this years pilgrimage despite all odds.

Pona called on them to particularly pray for Borno State which is still suffering from attacks by insurgents.

He reiterated that by their prayers at the Holy Land, God is going to intervene and restore peace to the state.

The Borno State CAN chairman called on the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Christ and the country while in the Holy Land for Christ to be glorified and for Nigeria to be given a good image.

The pilgrims were in high spirits as they boarded the buses provided by government to convey them to Yola where they would fly to Jerusalem to commence the pilgrimage exercise.
