Katsina Police Command Arrests Suspected Criminals

Commissioner of police, CP Muhammed Wakili gave the assurance while parading fifteen suspected criminals at the command’s headquarters in Katsina state, northwest Nigeria.

The paraded suspects were involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling and drug peddling.

According to CP Muhammed Wakili, the IGP monitoring and strike unit, based on a tip off, succeeded in arresting the trio of Abubakar Jauro, Lallahi Ibrahim and Lawal Wada aged 27, and 26 respectively, all of Tafoki village in Faskari local government area of the state for allegedly kidnapping one Rabo Shagari and demanded one million naira as Ransome.

The Katsina state police boss said the command also arrested two other notorious suspected armed robbery syndicates terrorising some local government areas in the state where, two ak-47 riffles, one g.3 riffle and a locally made riffle with eight rounds of live ammunition were recovered from them.

On the fight against drugs, CP Wakili said, the command is making progress even as peddlers are now devising new means in the business, but assured of his men’s ability to tackle it.

Among those arrested include a 77-year old man Muhammed Badaru, Muddasiru Al-Mustapha and Bishir Umar who were caught with twenty one sealed items suspected to be Indian hemp as well as one Henry Ikemba who was arrested with another forty one sealed parcels suspected to be Indian hemp.

All the suspects have confessed to committing the crimes as CP Wakili, advised the public to join in the fight against all forms of drugs in the society.

He said, all the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
