Lamido Urges Editors to Promote Unity Among Nigerians

| March 25, 2014

Dutse — Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State yesterday called on the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) to promote unity among Nigerians in their write-ups.

Lamido made the statement when members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, led by their vice president, Aisha Sule, paid him a courtesy call at the Government House in Dutse.

He said some of the editors from the South who came with fear and apprehension to Jigawa because of insecurity in some parts of the North could now educate their people on the true situation in the North, adding that as members of the fourth estate of the realm their write-ups could go a long way in shaping public opinion.

The governor told the editors that they should write about things that unite the country and not divisive issues like ethnicity and tribalism.

In her remarks, the NGE vice president said they were in the state for their standing committee meeting, adding that they were impressed with the level of development in the state.

Aisha told the governor that the transformation agenda of the present administration was practically visible in Jigawa
