The Nigerian Army will on Tuesday launch Operation Python ‘3’ in Kebbi state, North West region of Nigeria, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has said.
Buratai, who made the disclosure in Sokoto added that the region is being confronted with the challenges of banditry and cattle rustling.
“Banditry and cattle rustling in the North West have led to so many death of the civil population. And this must stop”.
The Chief of Army Staff, while expressing confidence in the ability of the Nigerian Army, divulged that he will continue to ensure that their training and retraining remained sacrosanct.
According to the COAS, training is the bedrock of professionalism, hence the need for the Army to continue to remain focus and committed.
He also charged the Army to ensure that there is high standard of civil/military relations as they conduct the affairs of Operation Python Dance ‘3’ in the North West geo-political region of Nigeria.
Buratai also admonished Army while on the Operation Python Dance ‘3’ to know their limits and vicinity so as not to allow themselves get ambushed, even as he charged them to fight back and defeat enemies of the country.
