One Policeman, Not Seven Died in Adamawa Attack – Police

Yola — The Adamawa State Police Com-mand has refuted reports that seven of its men died in the Saturday night attack in Fotta, Gombi Local Government Area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ibrahim Muhammad, said only one cop died in the inci-dent.

He added that the deceased, who was serving in Delta State, was in Fotta, to see his family when the incident occurred.

“The report that gun men kil-led seven policemen is false. The fact of the matter is that unknown gunmen armed with sophisticated weapons attacked Fotta village in Gombi Local Government Area and killed three civilians and a police corporal who came to visit his family. One person was also injured in the attack”, he said.
