It was a sad day for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as it lost five of its members to a ghastly motor accident on Monday, December 3, along Sokoto-Isa road.
Daily Trust reports that 63 other members sustained various degrees of injuries and are receiving treatments in hospitals.
Legit.ng gathers that the PDP members were returning to their communities at Bargaja village in Isa local government area after the flag-off of the party’s presidential campaign at the Kangiwa square in Sokoto state.
The incident, which was reportedly caused by bad road, was said to have left 49 others with minor injuries while some people were reported dead on Tuesday, December 4.
In his condolence note, the deputy governor of Sokoto state, Maniru Muhammad Dan’iya, prayed for a resting peace for the deceased members.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that PDP said its northwest presidential zonal rally on Monday, December 3, in Sokoto state, focused on national issues, as well as concerns on the plights, fears and aspirations of Nigerians in the geo-political zone.
The party said the focus of its rally would be in line with the policy document of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
