Police dispel rumour of attack in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has dispelled rumour of an attack in Southern Kaduna.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, in a statement yesterday, said there was no attack in any part of the state.

He stated: “The attention of the command was drawn to a mischievous alarm raised by some unpatriotic elements that the road to Zonkwa, Samaru, Kagoro, Gidan Waya, and Malangu, all in southern Kaduna axis, are blocked, crises-ridden and that people were being killed.

“The command wishes to debunk this fictitious and baseless rumour aimed at creating unnecessary panic in the minds of unsuspecting citizens who travel for their legitimate businesses.”

He assured that the southern part of Kaduna and indeed the state, in general, were peaceful and calm.

He, however, warned those peddling the rumour to desist from it or be prepared to face the full wrath of the law.

While reassuring the general public that the areas mentioned were calm, safe and secure, he urged them to disregard such “mischievous information aimed at inciting disturbance and panic.”
