Wild jubilation as Jigawa distributes 218 motorcycles to school inspectors

– Jigawa government said it has donated 218 motorcycles to schools supervisors across the 27 local government areas in the state

Jigawa government said it has donated 218 motorcycles to schools supervisors in the state through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to facilitate improvement on the monitoring of teachers.

Distributing the motorcycle, Daily Trust reports that Jigawa commissioner for education, Rabi Ishak, said the measure was taken to ensure that the education of the state meets modern demand, Daily Trust reports.

Rabi also added that the initiative was conceived to provide necessary equipment needed for the effective running of the education system of the state.

The commissioner said: “The state government has, since its inception in 2015, made several interventions in the basic education sector. The government constructed and renovated over 5,000 classrooms, recruited, 1200 teachers and provided instructional materials for conducive learning.”

The executive secretary of SUBEB, Salisu Zakar, thanked the Jigawa government, adding that the distribution of the motorcycles to the inspection officers across the 27 local government areas of the state would come with a monthly maintenance fee for the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led government in Kano state said it had donated 10 new freezers to fish sellers in Yaryasa village, Tudun Wada local government.

The Kano governor, in a statement by his director general of media and publicity, Aminu Yassar, said he made the donation to boost the market of the local traders.
